This forum is great. I like the answers, and no smart remarks like some places.
Anyway, after reading a few threads I see reference to rear end noises. Mine has a very slight growl almost like a shushing sound a wind leak would make. It's there under acceleration and slightly different when you back off. So it's gears not bearings.
Since the rear differential is mounted to the frame, is this normal? I went on a test drive w/ a very competent trans guy (shop owner) and this was so little, it was never heard @ that time. Just worrying again.
