rear hatch door not shutting???

Old thread but will join. I have two sets of striker bolts and bushings bought on Amazon. The two for the back (hatch) fitted perfectly. The other four for the side doors are too large - the bushings that is. So, I have 2 new sets. In the meantime I use duct tape. Works "ok" and alarm does not trigger off anymore. Junk yard bushings up to now have not been in usable condition.

The two sets I bought "said" they were for my 1998 Explorer xlt 4.0 L 6cy SOHC.

Is there any store that really has them for sale. And sure to fit???

i didnt know where to post this so bare with me.... my rear hatch door wont shut. if i manually push the lever inside the door it will lock shut. i really dont know how to explain it. when i try to shut it it kinda bounces back?? its confusing. if you need any more info tell me. if i cant find a answer i will have to take it to someone who knows what they are doing:rolleyes:
i used scotts advice , got some tube , mine was clear water tubing , i had to boil it for a minute to make it fit .
the door took a couple of times to shut lock but it is a good quick fix until i find the correct replacements . i took the post ,( located on each side where the lock mechanism fits), to hardware store and found a match .
thanks Guys !
