The rear heater core on my 2014 Explorer Ltd. is leaking coolant. Is it possible to just bypass the heater core? Why is there only one line visible? Is the other one inside?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Whoops!
I wasn’t looking close enough and, of course, both coolant hoses were there.

It turns out that the factory clamp on one of the heater hoses was broken and this was causing the leak. I fixed it with a $1.59 hose clamp.

Thanks very much for all your help and suggestions!!!

That’s what I love about this forum…

The hose clamp and piece of rubber I used to stop a pinhole leak in a copper water line over 20 years ago are still doing their job too.
