Rear Hub Stuck to Axle Splines

Just took a close look at the knuckle I removed. That rear clip that holds the pressed bearing in is beefy. I doubt I hurt anything but it'll be pucker time for a few days for sure...LOL

I cleaned the splines with a triangle file, a freshly sharpened cold chisel, and a wire wheel before reassembling. There is plenty of length to engage the splines, even with a few nicks taken out of them by corrosion, cold welding, and/or cleaning. I also added axle grease to the spline shaft and loaded in some axle grease around the retainer clip, just to fend off water and corrosion for a while. It went back together like brand new.

Six months later: No signs of the grease getting into places it shouldn't be.
