I need a rear left leaf spring for my 2000 ford explorer, sport 2 Door. Can't seem to find it new anywhere. It was suggested that I get a used one. Tried a couple of stores in my area and they didn't carry it new.

Is a used one really worth it? Is it expensive to get it changed? In other words... what's the best solution??

Thanks-

Just get a set of rear springs for a 4dr Explorer (up to '01). Replace the left and right sides and you will be alot happier with your suspension. They bolt right in.

my '01 sport doesn't have a monoleaf but is it the same as 4 door leaf springs?

I don't know if the '01+ 2dr Sports have the same spring rating as the 4dr models. I'm assuming the 4dr would have a higher load rating due to the truck being 400-500 lbs heavier.

I know that the multi-leaf springs on my '01 Sport sagged as much the mono-leaf springs on my friend's '00 Sport. F150 leaves worked for me (I wanted extra lift and firmer ride), but a new set of 4dr springs would be fine for most people and have a softer ride than mine. Alot of people here are happy with their 4dr spring conversions.
