A shop by my house called Blitzkrieg Motorsports.
Is interested in making rear shackles for our Explorers.
These shackles would be about 3" over stock. Which will give you an 1.5" lift in the rear.
The shackles will be lazer cut and will be TIG or MIG welded together.
And these shackles are insane and will almost be impossible to break.
He is wondering how many people would seriously buy these shackles if they are made.
The price is unknown right now because the price will depend on how many people are going to buy these shackles.
Here are two pictures of what they will look like.

So if you are seriously interested in buying a set of these shackles could you post here so we can get a ruff number on how many shackles are needed so he can get back to you guys with a price for the shackles.

Thank You.

Is this a "group purchase"? Has this been approved?

No its not a group purchase.
We just want to see the interest in these for right now.

Just wondering what's better about these than the Warriors?

Not much they might be stronger its just another choice for people.
That and they will look completely different that the Warrior ones.

Doesn't look much different than a warrior except for that fancy center section.

Basically, they would have to create a "proven" shackle, that is near impossible to break, powdercoated, with hardware, for under $50.

The "proven" part is going to be hard to accomplish, since it can't be tested until actually produced. WAR153s have already been proven, with no breakage (that I have ever heard about). For people to take a chance on an unproven design, price will need to be quite a bit lower than the proven design.

WAR153s are powdercoated for an extra defense against the environment. To compete with Warriors, in the same price range, this new design will need to be coated also.

And of course, mounting bolts will also need to be provided.

Seems like something that really wouldn't be worth making, as there isn't much you can do to better the Warrior ones. Unless you could equal them for less money, but even then you have to overcome the reliability factor. People trust WAR ones because of this site and other things, some new product won't be nearly as trusted. good luck..

War153's can be bought for $49 shipped on rubicon4x4.com..... This is the cheapest place I have seen them......so as far as another company producing something, that would have to do it for way less money since they are not a known company. Warriors are trusted.....I would ONLY use warrior shackles.... i would never use autozone or the one this guy might make. Warrior's are proven products!!

I have War153 so maybe im biased!

I dont think this guy as any chance making money off his shackles, he better just pass at the idea.

Geeze people, its shackles... Hes not trying to reinvent the wheel. Theres no good reason for him not to try. What if Warrior suddenly decided to stop making shackels?? Or what if they declared bankrupcy, where would you be then?? Left with the Autozone shackels or another company's inferior product. At least this guy is attempting to create a product that is durable and a decent performer. Dont be so quick to dismiss, theres always room for competition. You people act as if you have stock in Warrior.

I would be interested, looking at the drawings that have been posted I would be willing to bet that what your buddy has in mind will out perform the PROVEN warrior shackels. As Fhantazm already has said, this guy isn't trying to reinvent the wheel. He is just giving all of us another option.

how would one outperform the other to me it is a "go or nogo" type thing

Well thank you guys for your opinions but I was just wondering the interest in these shackles and giving other people another company to choose from because isn't that what American business is all about competition and personal I do not like Warrior at all I have had too many problems with the company and their sway bar disconnects broke on me but thats just me and my opinion.
And Thank you guys who support our efforts here.

Anyways these shackles will be really good this guy builds desert trucks and parts for them and he has built my friends shackles that are on his prerrunner so if his shackles can handle the harsh desert driving and racing that he puts his truck through then I bet the shackles for our Explorers will be just as good.

Well, I, for one, will be interested. Feel free to PM me when they come out.

Anyone else interested.

Count me in, The design looks great.

depending on price, i'm interested. :)

Depending on price, I might be interested.

You know what would be really great, is if he would produce an initial batch and give them to some of us free (or very very cheap). That way there would be some people using them and they would be considered "tried and tested." Consider it beta testing! :) And once some folks are using them, more and more people will buy them.
