I read the post that Bronco638, (great post by the way), posted but here is my question. After installing the F-150, was the springs mounted on the bottom or top of the rear axle? If on the bottom, how much more lift could I get by welding new perches on the top of the axle and installing the new F-150 spings on the top of the axle? Has anyone tried this yet? Also thinking of trying to run some 33X12.50 on my 98 XLT after lifting it 2in. Will there be enough room in the finder wells to run them without trimming the front fenders to have clearance for turning? Thanks for all the info in advance.

with yur springs over the axle with no extra springs you will get 4-6" of lift.

Thats about what I was thinking by looking at it while I was under there looking. Thanks for the info.

A 2" lift will not allow 33's. 32's maybe with a lot of trimming. 2" with a 3" body lift may be able to clear it though I don't know personally.

im afraid your wrong...

if you stick with your factory 15x7 wheels and a 33x12.50 you fit fine with an AAL and shackles and torsion twist to level it. If you go with a 15x8 you will need 4" backspacing to clear the 33's with no rubbing.

so go get you soem 33's and slap em on there. youwont regret it.

Really....I guess I should have read up more. I can barely fit my 31x10.50 on 15x8 without rubbing.

Thanks for the kind words. I did not alter the location of the leaf spring mounts after the swap. They're still in the stock (SUA, spring under axle) location.

im runnign 35's on factory wheel siwth 2.5" TT shackle AAL and 3" BL and no rubbing anymore.
