While inspecting the underside of my 94' this weekend I found that BOTH rear spring shackles are literally corroded completely through on the in board side. The drivers side is so bad I'm afraid it'll give at any time. Anyone seen this before? Any suggestions on replacements? It's a stock set-up. :salute:

Let me check, I should have mine from before I changed to warriors. Should have the bolts too. I will sell em to you cheap, but shipping may be kinda high due to their weight.
Let me know if you are interested.

That's what you get with the snow and salted roads up north. You might want to take Darrman up on his offer, shackles from Texas are probably in pretty good shape, and you'll be paying alot for what is just some bent sheet metal with holes in it otherwise. Darrman, if they're that heavy, you can use a flat-rate box from the post office, and it'll be less than 10 bucks to ship it.

When I pulled mine off, they looked like this:

It's a wonder they don't fail all the time

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to lift your suspension. F-150 spring mounts and shackles.

Charlie, I love your avatar...

And yes, I have been drinking...

Ok, I found mine, pretty decent shape. Bolts could use a quick wire wheeling.
Let me know if you or anybody else wants them.

Yes I have seen this!!

Right now I am looking for some replacement shackles!

Any one have suggestions?

hey mic check for a thread about the minnesota shackles, he has them all the time, and will deliver the same day as ordered, ,

Replacement Shackles, perhaps new leaf springs? Got mine through LMC Truck. They have a catalog just for 91-94 Ex's. Price was cheaper and shipping time was faster.

Thanks for all the info.
Now I am looking to get new bolts (have all parts ready to go)..can anyone tell me the size of the bolts?

Go to your local ACE or other good fastener supply source and get Grade 8 bolts, either 9/16" or 14mm diameter, 4 inches long, and get a matching all-metal locking nut (not a nylock nut with a nylon ring) for each bolt. Aftermarket shackles like the warriors need a slightly longer bolt that's 4.25 inches long due to the thicker shackles, though.
