Check the web link below and look at posts #28 and #29, they should help you. Tip, you are better off buying and replacing the whole strut/spring assembly in one piece, rather than go thru the hassle of changing the struts only. In post #28 in that web link I gave you, the "Strut Tek" brand strut/spring assemblies are recommended by some people in here and cost much less than the Monroe brand. You can buy them at www.primechoiceautoparts.com for around $75 - $85 each.

I did the StrutTeks over the summer on the rears after 200K+ on my stock struts. I am very happy with them. Follow the instructions/pics in that link. It is a bit time consuming but not that hard to do yourself.

Welcome aboard cannon!! :salute:

Both my rear springs were broken & my front struts were leaking when I bought my Ex in Feb 2010.

Now I'm running the StrutTEK's on all four corners and have nothing but good things to say about them! The ride is awesome and the price is right. I can't compare them to the original struts since they were FUBAR when I bought my Ex.

The rears were installed on 11/29/2010 & the fronts were installed on 2/20/2012.

I love them. The ride is great.

I have driven sedans my whole life and I can tell a big difference between my Freestyle and Explorer/Mustang. My Mustang drives like a truck (live rear axle and the harsh OEM struts/shocks), the Freestyle is like driving a "recliner", with the Explorer in between.

With that being said, how are the Strutteks now? Does it drive like a truck or like a car?

My StrutTek's are still absolutely awesome. It doesn't ride like your grandfather's Caddy, but it doesn't ride like a tank either. I think it rides perfect!!!
