"I'm new to this forum and could really use some ideas on why the rear window glass on my 2007 Explorer opens by itself while driving down the road. I tried disconnecting the switch thinking it might be faulty, but it made no difference. It's driving me crazy! Any suggestions?"

Where is the switch you disconnected?

The switch I disconnected is the outside button on the tailgate above the license plate. It made no difference. Very puzzling...

im having the same issue on my 2007 75K on it.
It started about the same time the right door lock stopped locking and just buzzing.
Im thinking it could be Key Fob malfunction. Does anyone know how it latches?

Can you hear any other locks operating when the rear glass opens! I would look at the key fobs and possibly the grounds in the rear lock to make surer the connections are not flacky.

Can't hear any other locks opening. I will try to check the grounds. Also, maybe there's a wire shorting that is triggering the lock? It tends to do it on bumpy roads... Thanks!
