rear window motor out?

I just bought a 2001 ST & the seller told me the rear window motor went out. Ford wanted $500+ to fix it. He just unbolted the motor & set the window in place. I'd like to replace the motor. Can I just get a new motor, plug it in & be good? Or is there some specific step that needs to be done for it to work?

Bought a new motor on Ebay. Even came with the programming instructions. $50 & 10 minutes of my time. Works great! To think the ford dealership wanted just under $600 to do this. Talk about rediculous
