:feedback:On my father in law's and my Explorers the rear window wiper does not clear the area it is supposed to clear and the wiper blade misses at least half of the screen it is supposed to clear. We have both brought new wiper blades and tried adjusting the wiper arm to no avail. I have watched the wiper blade on it's arc and after about 1/4 of the way up it's arc most of the wiper blade is not even touching the rear window.
Does anyone have any advice on how to adjust this so that the rear wiper clears the rear winow as it is supposed to do?
Many thanks

PS Both Explorers are 1999, Father in laws standard, mine's a North Face

This is quite a common issue. Gijoecam fixed it like this.

I took the wiper arm off and looked at the inside to see what limits the movement. There are a pair of "fingers" on either side of the spring that prevent the wiper from moving any closer to the window. Why? I don't know, but they are there. So, I removed the spring and swung the arm as far out as I could, then used a die grinder to shorten the stop fingers by about 1/16". This lets the spring pull the wiper arm closer to the rear window.

There is also a modified rear arm available which does the same thing.

Yup also look at its actual arc of travel..mine is not perfect as I believe the workings are mounted to the door with three rubber mounts- like gromets, mine have movement. Maybe one has come off and the system moves a little,(its one of those- I will fix it in the end jobs)!
