The rear wiper on my 98 Explorer is not working. I checked the fuses and all are OK. When I turn it on, I get a slight "click" sound from the Relay box under the hood. The other stuff that runs off the relay works.
How can I check the wiper motor to see if that is the problem without taking it to the shop and paying big $ for labour?
When I took out the relay for the rear wiper, the truck would not start.
Thanks:ca:

Grab ahold of the wiper arm and move it around. Drive on a bumpy road and turn on the wiper. Sometimes the motor is on a "flat spot", for lack of a better description.
Just needs to be kick-started.

Mine did that twice. After that it was a new motor for me.

Check the wiring connected to the wiper motor itself. If you got some juice and it still doesn't work then you need a new motor. It cost about $50, I believe. It'll cost twice that to get it installed. Depending how handy you are you might want to tackle that job yourself.

As already mentioned......

turn on ther wiper and go grab it and give it a pull up. The moters are notorious for "dead spots".
