On my 2006 Explorer the rear wiper operates intermittently at best. Most often it moves only a few inches and stops.

Could this a relay problem or a motor problem? Unfortunately, I couldn't find the much earlier thread that talks about this.

My '06 does the same thing in the winter. I purchased my '06 in the fall of '08, and during last winter my rear wiper did the same thing you describe. I mentioned it to someone and they said it might be a ground wire problem. I never did anything because the problem stopped in the spring and has worked ever since. I'm assuming I will have the same problem this winter. I thought it might be the road salt/water shorting it out somewhere. We're not the only ones with rear wiper motor problems on 06's.....I've read of several that have been replaced on this site. If it happens again this winter, I fully expect I will be pulling it apart to look at it.

theres definitly a TSB out on it somewhere..they replaced the motor in my 06 for free....

Thanks! Good to know, but I didn't know that a TSB means they replace something for free. I thought only for a recall or under warranty.

Well mine was under warranty..sorry, forgot to mention that. TSB does not mean they repalce it for free.
