Reclining Rear Seats????

I'm just in the process of stripping an 06/96 V8 Limited...

I've never seen this before but the rear seats have 2 levers on them and the top parts with the headrests actually recline!!!

Has anyone ever come across this before? Is it common?

My 96' E.B. has it. The grands like to recline it and watch the DVD when we head to the coast.
