2004 Explorer Sport Trac
The CD player has stopped working altogether in my 2004 Explorer Sport Trac, for a while I was stuck with only Motley Crue's Greatest Hits, but now not only will the CD not eject, but won't play either.

I am looking for some advice on a replacement. I know very little about car audio so please pardon my ignorance on the topic. Ideally I would like to find a double DIN head unit that fits in the factory location and looks semi-OEM, has a 3.5mm aux input jack, SD card and/or USB. No Nav, touch screen or backup camera support needed.
So who's replaced their factory HU and can offer some guidance ?

Any Pioneer Double Din touchscreen has what you're looking for.

Here's what I run:

It'll also have bluetooth and a ton of fun features. :)

Price ranges from $250-800 depending on what you need. Reply if you'd like more info.

Kenwood DBX500BT double din here. RCA and USB in, no touch, but with BT. $199.00 but you could probably find it cheaper someplace.

Oops.

That's way too feature rich for what I'm looking for but thank you none the less for the suggestion, I just can't do touch screens ;)

That Kenwood is pretty much what I'm looking for feature wise and it's on Amazon for $139 too. How's the sound and the overall feel and quality? I've heard of Pioneer, and was budgeting spending towards the lower end of the price range DjDom posted.Figured I could get a quality HU at the $300 or under price point, especially sine I didn't want touch screen/nav/pandora/satellite et al. I'm not familiar with Kenwood though.

I highly suggest Alpine units, they are the bee's knees, lol. I have a single din, and have messed around with many double dins, they are great, but can get price fast, but you don't seem to be too interested in the fancy features, so you might be good.
