So I came across some tires on craigslist tire size 265/75/16. I talked the guy down to trade for a ps3 and 275. He says the tread is still 95% and that he just used em a couple times for practice on the dirt, never been on the street. He also says that tires are cut and grooved. So I just would wanna know if the tires are a good deal at that price. And exactly what effect the cut and groove will have, this is something ive never experienced so if you could clue me in on what it does. I'm currently running bfgoodrick all terrains 235/70/16 that are still really good that I'm gonna sell to my brother for 200 so money wise I don't feel like its too bad a deal because I never use my ps3 anymore and I'm selling my old set.

Any thoughts guys?

Hmmm.... just off hand they are going to be terribly out of balance and quite a reduction in rubber-to-road contact patch. Probably be OK for slow trail driving but not much else.

They might be a ticket magnet...

x2 on the ticket magnet. They have been altered from the DOT approved pattern quite a bit. UNLESS they are for trail use only.

thanks for the input guys, I ended up passing on em. Got into an accident yesterday so looks like that money will be going into a new bumper. Just gotta find a good design and a fabricator to make one up.
I didnt know you could get tickets for altering the tires as long as the tread was good, good to know though

Call it divine intervention, coincidence, luck, or anything else. Someone's watching over you.

Yeah i guess you can call it that, it could have been a lot worse. My car just got banged up a bit, but i had a hunter grille guard that pretty much absorbed all the impact. My hood got bent in two spots were the guard came into contact with it and the front bumper cover got scratched up and a fog light bracket broke. But the truck that i hit was a lot worse, the tailgate got bent and pushed in, the bumper was falling off and the left rear panel was all bent out like 2 feet.
I was excited at first about those tires though, i think they would have looked really good on the sport.
