Hey guys, I'll be replacing my accumulator and orifice tube soon and have a question. Which color orifice tube do I need? I see that there are both red and blue ones. Is there any way to tell which one I need before pulling out the old one?

My Ex is a 1998 XLT 5.0 by the way.....

Well right after I posted this I decided to just google it and it looks like I need a red one. Anyone agree or disagree with this???

Ive had very good luck with the variable ones. Here in southens Az you ac needs all the help it can get. Ive used the normal and severe duty ones and the have both worked well. The bring up the pressures when the vehicle is at idle so it cools better.

Know this is an old post but in case anyone else needs it, buy both before you tear it down and return the one you don't need. Pain to get to and it has to be correct color.
