Sup guys. Time for me to complaing and come to you guys to help with the other issue i have with my truck. Quick rundown of what I've done. When i got the truck the rear break line that ran across the rear axle failed inspection so i replaced it. Bled both the right and left rear afterwards. All was well. After a while, I started noticing an annoying squeal when I'd lightly hit the break pedal. Figuring it was bad front pads, i through a cheap set on and that didn't fix anything. Paid more attention and noticed the sound was seemingly coming from the drivers rear. Just rode it out figuring it was old pads or rotors. Well not soon after I also noticed my E-brake was basically doing nothing. It has NO hold what so ever. Well, as of the last month or so, after i leave my parking spot (I back in) the truck squeals HORRIBLY. That is, until i go about 30 one time and hit the brakes solidly. Then it's gone until i back up and go forward again. The truck seems to be front break heavy, but i also have 200+ pounds of chit in it at all times. My thinking is i need to re-bleed the system well, both front and back. And most likely at least replace the parking break shoe and hardware. And adjust it if need be. Does anything else stand out to anyone? Just trying to see if this was mildly common

When reversing, it activates the the automatic adjuster for the parking brake.
You need to check the parking brake system for rusted components, including the cable.

i figured exactly as such. is it typical for the shoe's AND hardware to wear out? Or just the shoe's getting worn out?

Rather quickly when you forget the release and smell something burning. LOL

lol i haven't done that one YET.lol. I'll probably just go ahead and do the shoe's and hardware. And get some good pads for the back to put on there. make sure the rotors check out. Bleed everything THOROUGHLY and clean the caliper slides up. Should be a big improvement

My cable was rusted and didn't move inside jacket anymore. Same with adjusters - a block of rust.
Good luck.

the cable was apparently replaced by the previous owner. so i think that'll be ok. definitely going to get the hardware though
