Removing Cowling to Install Running Boards

Hi Dave, and welcome to the site,
What you have to do is look under the truck, there is the lip of the rocker panel. There are about 13 black plastic push-on tabs. These only go in one way. You have to pull them all the way through or cut them off. They will pull through. On the ends there is one skrew that needs to be taken of and there are 2 of the black plastic tabs like the center piece. Once all the bottom pieces are taken of, you can pop the top portion off byhitting it from the bottom up. the top portion of the cover is hooked on by plastic pieces. The rocker panel has 13 holes in it that have these plastic pieces hooked into them. the cover attaches to the plastic pieces. The holes of the cover have the bottom portion open. Picture a c with the opening pointing down.That's why you can pop it off. The plastic attachment pieces will have to be pulled out very carefully. When you get the running boards, you also get the piece that covers the holes in the rocker panel. Hope this doesn't confuse you to much. Dead Link Removed
