Sometimes the driver side lock on my 97 Mounty doesn't go down at all when i activate the alarm. Is there a special way to take off the door panel to see if its jamming somewhere? I just don't wanna pop it off and possibly damage something.

Pull the 2 screws by the handle, then use a trim tool remover, scraper, or large flatblade screwdriver inder the bottom corner to free some space to pry off. Pull the panel straight off, releasing the christmas tree clips around the right, left, and bottom edges as you pull. Push the window switch bank back through towards the door leaving them hooked up. Unhook the light. Push the top edge of the panel straight up to release (it's in a chnnel, it will be sticky) and unhook the power mirror switch.

Lack of power when driving.

Hello all. I have a 97 explorer xlt sohc 4WD v6. It starts, but when you try to drive it, it will not go above 5-10 mph. Now I was think a timing issue. I changes the plugs and wires just to start. Also I had the ignition coil checked and it is good. I was told by the person I bought it from that the intake gaskets may need to be replace. I done some research and found that either the cam, tp, or the crank sensors could be causing my problem. Now I was wondering if I should just change all of these sensors and the gaskets or if someone could like point me in the direction to solving this issue with doing a lot of work. If you need more info on my issue let me know. Thanks.
