Has anyone removed these two crossmembers? I'm thinking about tearing out the green one so I can run regular shocks in the rear using a new tube crossmember. I'm sure those stock ones are tired. I'd also like to remove the red one since it's pretty much useless. I'm trying to gain some room under there for other accessories. I can't imagine you'd need this much structual integrity under there. But I'm also just a simple Utility Company worker and not an engineer. :p:

Oh yeah, I'd appreciate any pics of new shock crossmembers anyone has built.

I'm going to remove the red one at some point, your going to have to have something there though to support the evap canister.

Yeah, you're right. I went ahead and popped the rivets out of that one. The charcoal canister bracket is fairly stout with the other two bolts only. But I think I'd want to reinforce it for roads with heavy vibration, etc.

4.5lbs with the winch.

I don't know the answer to your question, but that pic is the best I've seen for asking about a specific part... makes my red circle with MS Paint look pretty weak... How hard is that to do in Photoshop?
