Removing the air dam

Has anyone removed the air dam on their explorer. I've seen a couple of people have removed it when the grill guard was installed. Just wondering if anyone has cut it off because it looks like if it ever caught something because of the ground clearance upfront it would pull the bumper off.

Yea I'm going to check it out today didn't get a good look at it yet cause of work and school but I'm going to check it as soon as possibly. Thanks

Just removed it just 4 little clips that had to pull out. Thought it was part of the bumper at first which is why I thought it might of had to be cut off. It looks a lot better without it and gives it a more of an off road look.
