Removing tie rod end

How do you knock the ball joint loose from the knuckle? Thanks for your help this website is great.

I take the nut off, install it upside down so that the bottom of the nut is flush with the top of the stud, and give it a whack with a big hammer.

Or you could use a "pickle fork".
