My truck is eating bearing. How can I determine if the spindle is the problem, or if I am just an idiot?
If the spindle is bad, what do I look for, for replacement? I have tried looking on Rockauto.com and searched for axle, spindle, etc. I can't seem to find the replacement part.
I replaced my drivers side back bearings in September 2013, and had to do it again today. I think I might have snugged them down a little tight trying to get the castle nut lined up. I set them to 20 ft. lbs., then backed it off 1/2 a turn, then just tightened it up basically, but the nut didn't line up, so I had to give it a little more. I have driven about 10 miles on them, can I back it off without problems, or are they toasted again?
