my 1996 v6 ex's speedometer started to only work when it wants too and my truck is acting like it doesn't know what gear it's supposed to be in. Alsomy od off light keep flashing. it threw the code for my vss malfunction. i picked up a new one and replaced it. i haf a hard time getting the new one all the way in. i had to in the process drive to my stepfathers house for a longer wrench. on the drive there the everything worked fine. when i got the there and tightened the bolt,now my speedo does work at all on my od off light is still flashing. the truck is shifting a lot better but no speedo. is it possible that i overtightened the bolt and caused the vss to malfunction?
