Hello I just finished up replacing my ground and positive battery cables. The car runs again but the Battery Idiot Light is on. What did I do wrong? I didnt think I messed up any of the wires to the Alt. Pretty confusing.
btw the Truck is a 1994 Exp. 4.0

You've got a bad connection somewhere.

Double check all the connections.

Thanks, I'll give it a once over. Funny that the stock volt gauge stays dead in the center when the Exp is running.

Check the underhood fuse box.. There is a small fuse (15 Amp IIRC) that is for the Alternator charge (exciter I think). If you blow that fuse your alternator won't charge..

The fuse looks good, I was driving it around tonight and the light kept flashing on and off at times. And a check engine code popped up but that is nothing new with this car.

Does the light come on when idling or at low RPM driving and go off when at higher RPM? I'd get out the Digital Multimeter (DMM) and check the battery voltage first thing before you start the engine, then again after it's had a chance to charge for a couple of minutes. Even at idle (without lights on or other accessories) you should be charging the battery. Although usually an alternator fails completely, they can partly fail as well. One test is to put the DMM on AC Volts. It should read almost zero.
