Replaced EGR valve. Check engine light still on!?

Well i get the dreaded drive from WIU back to the burbs on thursday while enjoying my high and lucky mpg of 10, at most. Once home, i'll check some of the vacuum lines and egr lines and what not to see if i can give em a cleaning... From there i shall know more
Thanks guys
Pete

Oh, as for the lines being clogged, it's only a whimsical guess/hope that only a line needs to be cleaned and not the egr valve or sensor

Well if you need an EGR valve, I still have my old one that works just fine, as far as I can tell. I replaced everything in the EGR system because I didn't know any better. It's weird though, I got better than 10 MPG when my DPFE sensor was shot. I drove around with the light on for almost a year before I had the cash and time to fix it. Oh well, let us know how it turns out.

Dave

P.S. How much time you got left at Western? Anything new down there? I haven't been back in while.

Got a new sensor in there, and so far all is working well, no check engine light. My luck will have it the EGR valve is bad, and I'll have to replace that as I gambled on the sensor. Most people said they had sensor problems so I jumped to that one as my guess for repair. We shall see!

Dave- WIU is still the same old. I graduate spring of '04 but I'm home after fall of '03 for my internship for the last semester. This is really flying by, which is nice cause I'm ready to get this crap done and over with!

DPFE sensor

Hey fellas,
been reading your posts and I have the same problem with my 94 limited X and its pissing me off! I get a code 332 EGR Valve not opening(EVP/PFE/DPFE) well I checked my EGR and it was sticking I replaced that, still a engine light, well then I checked the EVR sensor it bolts to part of the EGR its round and black and 2 vaccum lines go into it My local ford dealer said that they get gummed up cause theres a foam filter in it, well I replaced that for 36 dollars and still I get a engine light and the same code, well finally I replaced the DPFE sensor the silver box that bolts to the air plenum and I still get a check engine light I also inspected the hoses they seem to be good I have a feeling that one of them are getting sucked flat. my mechanic is stumped and so am I. I'm going to try disconnecting the battery cable but I don't think its going to work cause I already cleared the codes twice and it still comes on. When I was using my snapon vantage it say ( if hoses melt or break to dpfe sensor a blast of exhaust gases may melt the sensor. So if your hoses are bad it may of taken out your sensor I paid 110.00 for mine. if you guys have any ideas let me know please I get deployed at the end of this week so I'm loosing time.

thanks Brad
