Replaced switch, rear window defroster still won't work

I have a '96 explorer, and I have replaced the rear window defroster switch. Does anyone have any other suggestions besides the fuse panel in the door jam that I could try.

did u check the heater lines on the back window to make sure they arent cut or ripped?

Heater Lines checked

Thanks, I checked the heater lines for connections and cracks. The light on the switch doesn't light up when the switch is depressed.
