Morning Everyone,
First post here - appreciate sites like this, a wealth of info.

First question. Where can I get a replacement screw in antenna to replace the factory screw-in? I would like to get a much shorter rubber coated antenna sort of like those on two way radios (except about 2' long). Appreciate any sources.

Welcome to the site!

A replacement antenna should be really easy to find and install. I got mine at Radio Shack. It's a little over a foot long and is totally rubber. It gets better reception than the stock antenna and also doesn't hit trees ;) Make sure you get an antenna with the Ford adapter, as different manufacturers have different antenna mounts. The whole kit should be under $10. Good luck!

yeah, as Alec said Radio Shack sells them for $4.94 or something like that. It comes with several different "screws" and one of them should fit into your mount. They are about 1 1/2 ft long.
