Replacing A4LD governor

So Ive been looking at all the threads on how to replace the governor in the A4ld, and have a few questions.

1) Im assuming that Ill have to remove the driveshaft from the transmission side. Is there a special tool I have to use to do this?

2) Even though Im 2 wheel drive, Ill still have to remove the housing on the back near where the driveshaft connects?

1) No, just a wrench
2) dunno, Im 4x4 sorry

The tail housing I believe will still have to come off. In fact the tail housing is probably even more in the way with a 2x4.

The reason I was asking about the U joint is that the "bolts" didnt look familiar to me. Is it something I have to press down on?
