i have a 2000 explorer xlt, is there a trick to changing the foglights. One of mine was busted by a rock on the interstate so i am changing the whole assembly. There is 1 screw that is very hard to get to and i was wondering if there was a trick.

thanks
brian

Screw??? Are you changing the whole assembly or just the bulb? And am I correct in assuming that since you have a 2000 xlt that you have the chrome-corner foglight housings?

I am pretty sure he means the fog lights in the bumper.
yes there is a trick.
Remove the bumper.
Makes life WAY easier.
Four 22mm and it is in your lap ( almost literally so be careful )
Put it on a blanket so you don't scratch it all up.
Every thing is easily acessable from there.

I did the same thing on my 99 XLS. There are only three bolts holding the fog light assembly in. I believe 2 on top and one on the bottom. I don't know if it makes a difference if you have chrome corners.

gear wrenches are your best friend for tight spots

thanks guys, i will take the bumper off, and yes it has the chrome corners
