Hello all,
New member looking for help trying to replace front wheel bearings on a 4x4 93 explorer. Took off tire, caliper and locking mechanism. I'm stuck with the spindle lock nut. Any suggestions?

Use the Google search box near the top of the page and type this in - first gen wheel bearings - There is a lot of good info available.

Thanks, sws, I copied the docs. I found out I have automatic hubs. Some background; my son drove the explorer for a few years while in school. The truck's bearings went out just before he started his new job so I gave him my old dodge.

He drove the explorer a bit so it seems the locking key is stuck and would not come off, so I cannot remove the adjusting nut. To top it off, I cannot find a 2 3/8" hex socket at my local auto parts, so I might to go the Amazon way and have it shipped.

Thanks for the links. I'll get back with details in a couple of days.
