Reprogramming Ford Remote?

I know how to reprogram a ford remote. But my question is, does the new remote I buy have to be made specifically for the explorer, or could it be any ford remote as pictured below?

Doesnt have to be specifically for explorer nope. I have mine programmed to my sport trac but was originally to my dads f-150.

Thank you very much! I figured it was that way, but wanted to make sure before I go and spend $20 plus shipping on a new remote.
