Return from Gilmer Run 10/18/03

Looks like you guys had a blast. That Scout was the victim of some serious carnage... Lucky he got out of that ok.

And you thought the Sub Captain wouldn't find any water to sink in. Never under estimate the Captain!!

Looks like you guys had a blast. Hate to miss it.

I don't think any truck lid could hold up to a body slam like that. It makes me think about the logistics of putting in an internal cage without cutting the top off first. Hmmm. Not like any of us face situations like that often, but it would only take once. It's a flat out miracle that you guys weren't scooping brain pudding out of that scout.

Yes we all ran that trail before. Right when you hit the hole you must give it some gas to keep from going over.

wow, this thread got big quick. I don't have much more to say that hasn't been said already. My list of stuff to get has never more present in my mind than now :p...

jonathan..love your truck. didnt see if u got solid axle at front or no?

nope

You know me, just being "CrAzY" as usual, that place was a total blast I can't wait to go back again!

Even Trckmagik, and crew thought I was off my rocker!

If SVT Girl had wriggled around a little (refering to that picture) we would have been on our side for sure!

The remote throttle worked like a champ too.

dejello,

How's the truck???

as far as I can tell, working just fine. :) I think I'm gonna get that transmission looked at just in case though.. Never know what's lurking.. Now I just need to work on a few things myself......

HALLOWEEN weekend anyone? Get there saturday morning again and stay saturday night?

FUTURE RUNS

WOW

Looks to me like you guys had a blast.

Jeff looks like ya found some water after all huh? Never fails, once a duck always a duck.

Well I have to say the trail run looked like it was alot of fun. I would like to go on ya'lls next one. Hopefully Halloween weekend?

The only thing is and I don't want to sound like a panty weight, some of those trails I don't think I would even attempt. One cause my truck is my daily driver, and I don't have a backup, and it's already been rolled over once and it took me 4 months to get it back to the condition it is now. Jeff's seen it. And two is that I don't think i'm that confident in my driving abilities, or as skilled as you guys are to tackle such a trail. I've been on my top, similar to what happened to the scout. And trust me it is a place you NEVER wanna be. Call me gunshy but at the same time I would like to ease into to it, not jump in with both feet.

With that said, would I waste my time and ya'lls time by going up there with you? Hopefully ya'll won't blast me after you read this.

thanks guys

No Sir!

You wouldn't be wasting your time or anyone elses time at all!
The trails go from very light wheeling to the big kahunna's that we didn't even do, so there is something for every one to enjoy, 62 trails in all!

Don't forget that we all accept ride-a-longs to!

Here's the link to the Halloween thread for you to sign up on, I hope to see your name in there, and hope to see you and your better half out at the Ranch! :D

And..............

That 2nd generation "X" you see in the pictures is 2wd, if that makes you feel any better, he had to be strapped a few times, but he still had a blast, and gave it 100% effort to have the best time possible!

Hats off to Swak!

thanks for the kudoos, svo. i did had a blast. at one point, i think brian was geting fustrated at babysitting.
all in all, wow, i was amazed at what a locked 2wd can do.
smile brian.
994x3Oh, u have to go. it is fun.
hey guys, remember that short short trail that i tried and failed and had to back around? i think if we had a better line, i could had made it and those guys at the trail cleaners / jeepers quit yapping and help a fellow wheeler,m i am sure we could had made it. i keep looking at the pics and the far left side loooks tamer. next time, i will try that again.
