Rev Limiter

When the car is in Park or Neutral the car only Revs to 3k is their any way to bypass this?
I have an 04 ford Explorer XLT 4.0 V-6

if there is a way it will be a lot a wiring. i believe that it is limited by the pcm or the ecu, and placing jumper wires would just mess things up.... i think you're better off leaving well enough alone. i'm don't think there is a benefit to being able to rev out your motor except to do something potentially stupid, which i know first hand, gets you into trouble.
