I'm pretty good at wiring, except custom stuff like this, envolving relays, so here it goes::

I'm gonna put KC Hilites Reverse Light Kit in my rear bumper when I get it, and I wanna wire it to a center off, two position on switch, I just don't know how to do it.

Left Position = Works with Facorty reverse light circuit
Center Off = Won't work with anything (NO Power what so ever)
Right Position = Can manually be switched on.

Now, I know that however I do this, I'll have to tap into the factory reverse light circuit, and run a power wire seperately for the two ON positions.... but how do I go about wiring it up to a relay and the actual switch?? A diagram would be great.

1) reverse tap > switch on1> relay signal
2) power > switch on2> relay signal

Both signal wires can be run into the same relay prong. The rest of the relay wiring will be normal.

thanks alec, but I'm dumb with Relays, I can never remember which numbers equal which, and what type would I need? a DPDT??

Just a normal relay will work.

30 is power
85 is ground
86 is signal
87 is load

alright, thanks a TON Alec.
