Reversed Compass Directions?

I like the way the compass works, but if I hadn't learned how to sail in the past few years, I might have thought twice about how the Ex's compass looks.

This was my thought also. I'm amazed at how many here are insistent on being wrong.

The current compass implementation while it works as intended, does not provide additional navigational information that is helpful, rather it provides miscues.

:D

So.... like the public school system, you feel we should cater to the lowest-common denominator? ;)
If people don't understand something, then perhaps a little (or a lot of) education is in order!

Bahahahahahahahahahaaaaa. That's all I have to say about this thread. Bahahahahahahahaha.

“Truth lies within a little and certain compass, but error is immense.”

Let's pretend Homers head is a globe compass. You're Bart Driving the car. Where Bart has the marker, right next to the last E in the word Here is showing N for North. The arrow says North is this way. Now North is fixed so east would be on the left and west would be on the right. It is the direction you are going in. Homers eyes are the headlights. You are reading N on his head or "globe" and the letter under the arrow, be it N,S,E or West is the direction you are going in. It spins as you turn as would a globe. If you were going East you would see an E, and North would be on the right and South on the left. It spins.... Hmmmmm donuts....... Confused more. Bahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^ It makes perfect sense now! :D

That is one of the funniest things I have read on this forum in a while.

Bravo!

Compass readings

If the vehicle is facing north^ the compass will have east< on the left and west> on the right..south opposite of north as it should be. Like the following.......

...N
E....W
...S
I hope this explains what I see.

That is correct...

Another way to illustrate is if you were facing due north in your EX. Start turning to your right. As you are turning right, you are facing more towards the east. Because the index keeps pointing north, the E on the left side of the compass card moves closer to the needle. You can now read directly off the compass that you are facing easterly.

SYNC 3 now has the compass show east on right west on left when facing north.
