Year, Model & Trim Level
1999 Explorer XLT 4.0
I have a '99 4-dr XLT 4x4 with stock 15" alloy rims and want a set of rims to mount my 235/70R15 winter tires onto. Can anybody tell me what model year Explorer rims will fit ?There are good used rims available but I don't want to end up with wheels that don't fit. Thanks!

I have a 99 and I am using the rims off my 92 for snow tires. I do need to use diffrent lug nuts for the diffrent rims.

Any 15" rim with the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern will fit, though wouldn't go over 8" wide for the tire size you have listed. That includes a lot of vehicles - pretty much all 1990's to early 2000's (when factories started upsizing to 16" & 17") ranger, explorer, crown vic's, madza trucks, jeeps. Used wheels are generally cheap, especially steel wheels. Check craigslist and call your local salvage yards.
