The wheels themselves do not offer the "manual locking feature" as you put it. That is the hub you are thinking of. If your Explorer has auto-locking hubs, and you want manual ones, you do not need new wheels, you need a manual hub conversion kit, such as the one that Warn makes. Then if you still wanna change your wheels, you can.
Now the hubs do stick out and are larger than the center hole on some aftermarket wheels. Some people around here have put nice aftermarket rims on 91-94 Explorers, but sometimes, the center hole on the rim had to be enlarged to fit over the hub. What looks good on a vehicle is largely a personal preference. But there are many threads around here featuring pictures of 91-94 Explorers with nice aftermarket wheels. I'd suggest a search, or just a quick browse through older threads in the Tires and Wheels forum. Good luck!
