Does anyone else have problems with rocks being thrown up from your tires and hitting the front bottom area of the rear fenders and chipping the heck out of your paint?

I've tried mudflaps but they don't work, and they always get ripped off when offroad.

No it's actually on the outside of the fender near the bottom. Right where the fender flares and the plastic liner meets.

My 4 door was getting dinged there before I put the step bars on. They did a pretty good job at stopping the damage.

I got Ford mudflaps and they help out a lot. They get really abused, but stay on well. I also have the full fender flares and trim, so the plastic protects the bottom edges of my truck.
