ok, gonna be doing some small work on the sport to keep myself busy(aside from 70 hrs a week, and a side business:D ) So I'm trying to find a set of rocker panels for the sport project, as the ones on it are shot. Finding them in a junkyard will be near impossible too, rust belt ya know. Anyone have any ideas.

I would order the replacement peice as suggested above. However it is not realy that easy of and install. Cutting and welding and grinding will be required and a dose of body filler finishes it off.

Take a good look at your rockers to see where it needs to be repaired. I bought two replacement rockers. one for each side and ended up sectioning out one of them where I needed it. Took the other one back.

The online place I found just happen to be 20 minutes away and I just called ahead and walked in. nice to save on shipping that way. Maybe check around and see if any shops have them locally you could get it through at a decent price

Also make sure how much is rusted out. Outer rocker panel? Inner rocker? Rocker reinforcement.

Those are some super cheap parts. Hell I'd get 'em.
Good Luck.........

thanks guys, the rust is pretty bad, thinking I might have to have someone who knows body work look at it, I wanna done right, but not perfect, gonna have everything herculined, it's mainly gonna be a trail warrior anyway.

If cosmetics are not the most important (and with Herculiner, I guess its not) all you have to do is make sure you get all of the rust out.

GET THAT RUST OUT!!! It is a cancer to sheetmetal.
Scrape that Sh$t out. Spend a few bucks and replace those outer rockers. Then knock yourself out with that Herculiner. If that is your plan all you need for the rocker is a solid weld, and good corrosion protection (primer).

Best of luck!!

yeah, really glad I still have my snap 6" grinder, gonna do some serious cutting with the 40 grit, and yeah cosmetics aren't important, I just want it to last. After all the ultimate goal here is to have one heck of a weekend warrior.
