rocking at highway speeds?

as i drive my 97 xlt explorer at highway speeds like 60-70 it rocks back and forth and if i hit a bump in the road it rocks even worse, feels unstable. what is the cause of this? do i need new shocks? an alignment?

check front and rear sway bars first and then all 4 shocks.

if you can't find the problem post a picture with the front and rear suspension of you truck

i have them same problem, i think that the suspension is not hard enought so in a few weeks, i'm doing a torsion bar twis and adding more read leafs, plus adding new shocks all around. My mechanic said it would help.
