Rotors

I have not bought anything from autozone in years, but dad bought some rotors there once. Made in mexico. They did not last long.

I always purchased parts from Autozone,PepBoys, Checkers or Napa...Every once in a while I would get a wrong part or a Dud.I rarely bought anything for the 90's on up vehicles. A driveshaft for a 90 BII. I had bad luck with a clutch pack for a 87 BII from Napa.
I rarely bought from the dealer....only when necessary!!!

I got the wrong brake pads from damn Pep-idiots. They did fit in but when I slid the calipers in I noticed one went in top first then the other bottom first. I finally went to Autobarn an got the right pads (Bendix) and just returned the others back to Pepboys.
I don't know where they got those pads from but they are not for a 2002 explorer. I guess they are buying any no name brand. I can't remember what the box name was.

Same. I bought the drilled slotted for the front with the regulars in the back. Bought performance rotors and the metallic brake pads.

14 months later, my rotors are torn to hell and warpped.

I have seen a lot of good posts on brakes in different threads as you look around. Also if you don’t want to spring for a Chilton’s sometimes you can find a set at the library. I have had to look a lot of stuff up there.
