Rough Idle Fix?

Finally fixed rough idle by replacing intake gaskets. Job went really well. All too well. Then turned ignition on. ****!!! what a noise, Rattled, died would not start again. Left it, had a beer. Something dropped down the bore. Even though i stuffed it with rags!. After my beer went back to it. Damage is done so what, turned key expecting the same. WTF it started ran smooth no more problems. I can only put it down to having that beer break. Unless anyone knows better?

Depends on the beer. I find a nice strong hoppy American IPA does the trick for me. If one doesn't do it, two or three will.

If you changed the tensioner at the same time, they take a while to fill with oil.
