I have a 2000 explorer when it is cold it idles rough[500 rpm] and occaisionally stalls . I have cleaned the m.a.f. and tested the i.a.c. and both are functioning, check engine light wont go off. Also the diagnostic port doesnt get a signal so I cant read any codes. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suspect inlet lanifold air leak, start it and spray wd40 all oround the manifold, if it suddenly runs better after that, its confirmed. you need to replace the seals.
If this is the case and only after you have done the fix, reset ecu by unhookin the battery for about 20 mins, it may run rough for a while till it understands the new inputs its getting from the maff and iac. Good luck mate, let me know how you get on.
