Rough Starting 01

Somedays the old 01 just fires right up.

Other times it hesitates, and when you let of the key and think it's going, she dies. Does this 2-4 times before it catches and runs fine.

Battery not holding a charge?? Or being charged??

Any ideas appreciated.

Next time it fires right up and dies immediately try starting it it up and giving it a little gas. If it stays running with your foot on the gas but dies as soon as you let off I would say you have a classic idle air control valve problem. It's very common if you do a search. You can try cleaning it but they are definately a wear item and not too expensive.

There's also the 00M12 recall issue with the lower intake gaskets that can cause a rough idle on startup, it gets worse in cold weather and not a problem in warmer weather. I just had mine done by the dealer, its a 6 year 72000 mile recall issue that you can do an internet search and find out more.
