Just bought an 06 Tiburon (no worries, still own the explorer) about 3 weeks ago. It is a 4 cyl., 5 speed, manuel.
Starting last night, sometimes when i push the clutch in while driving the RPMs go real high (4000ish) and slowly drop. Today, it happened once but the RPMs where at 5000 and climbing!!! I quickly pulled to the side and shut it off. Started it back up and it went back to idling normally. I certainly dont want to drop the clutch at 4000 and definitly not 5000, for that matter. What is happening would be the same as pushing the clutch to the floor and flooring the gas. This doesn't happen all the time. What could be wrong? Vacuum leak?
