My '97 has developed a rumbling vibration when I accellerate. It only occurs under accelleration, and I had my mechanic check it out, and he pulled the driveshaft to the from differential and had the rumble go away. However, he doesn't know what's causing it.

My guess is the CV joints in the halfshafts. Is this a common problem, and/or a likely solution?

How tough is it to change halfshafts? My torque wrench only goes to 150ft lbs, and spec is 157-213ft lbs.
