Sweet CougarX and yamaman101,

I came back here just to check some things and saw the diagram, etc. I'm going to make the changes this weekend, woohoo!

So with the diagram, am I assuming right that I basically just lay on the driver's side and look behind the center console, then find those wires, cut them (or preferably I guess remove them from the back of the message center), then just electrical tape the ends and be done?

Just to verify the colors again, can you explain again?

Remove the message center (pull up on it) and clip the wires from the back. Use the diagrams on the first page of the thread and clip the pink/white wire (pin 12) and the dark green/light green (pin 22). Put some e-tape around the cut ends and the more dummy message. You will also need to turn off the air ride switch in the cargo area if you did not remove the compressor.

and the more dummy message

typo?

I understood everything but that part.

hey mr ------C----- dont get all jumpy, I respond to MANY posts a day and help when I can......the search feature is not used enough on this forum, and searching can be an art form....I was just mearly trying to help you, so forgive me for having signature hahaha

my fault..it should have read
no more dummy message.

lol, I was like "huh?", then I went back to the original posts. I hope you took my jab in stride...I was just messing around. I'm not too active on this board but I'm familiar enough with "searching" and looked and looked on this board and others first.

Seems like the answer is here now though....so that will be good for future searches.

I don't know who runs the forums, but with as many posts as you have, you probably do, so it may be good to add this to a Tech section/FAQ. I'm sure there are tons of people that replace their shocks with nice off-road ones here and probably just live with the message.

Thanks again to everyone for the help...it was a small nuisance but definitely something worth getting rid of.

Thanks for bringing this thread up as I have the ARC and for now it is working OK( even with 150K on it) But I wanted to know how to disable it.

Tim

I just wanted to say that I did this "mod" this weekend and everything went smooth as silk. Took about 10 minutes total, and I was triple checking everything.

I ended up just cutting the 2 wires about 4 inches out from the back of the message center and capping each wire. This way if need be in the future someone wanted to put on air ride shocks they can and can "reattach" the wires.

I have been told by others over here (in the land down-under) that it is easier to just turn switch off then plug the air-lines tightly. Then you can put in any aftermarket suspension you want with no lights coming on.

No, turning the switch off causes the error light to come on.

I stand corrected (shoulda thought of that myself) but the plugging of air-lines part still does work apparently. :salute: :D
